Custom Cars, Global Dreams
If you’ve ever dreamed of seeing your custom car turned into an official Hot Wheels die-cast model, your moment just might be around the bend.
Mattel and Mobil 1 are teaming up once again to launch the 2025 Hot Wheels Legends Tour, and this year’s event is bigger, bolder, and more global than ever before. Set to hit the road on April 26 in Tampa, Florida, this tour is more than just a car show—it’s a celebration of creativity, craftsmanship, and automotive passion that spans the world.
From Local Streets to Global Legends
Originally born as a series of U.S. events, the Hot Wheels Legends Tour has evolved into a worldwide movement. In 2025, it’s shifting gears with a new format that better reflects its growing global fanbase. The tour will now feature three regional finals—one each for Europe & the Middle East, Latin America, and the United States. The winners from each region will meet in the Global Grand Finale later this year, where one jaw-dropping build will be crowned and immortalized as a 1:64-scale Hot Wheels vehicle.
And yes, that winner becomes part of the iconic Garage of Legends—where only the most inspiring designs earn a permanent place.
Taking the Tour International
This year’s tour will stop in 16 countries, including exciting new destinations like Benelux, Peru, and Turkey. Whether you’re a builder hoping to show off your custom masterpiece or a fan just looking to soak up the event’s energy, there’s something for everyone.
Expect exclusive Walmart-hosted events with full-throttle displays, hands-on play areas for kids, and collectible editions of Hot Wheels Legends vehicles you won’t find anywhere else.
A Tour for Everyone—Even From Home
U.S. fans who can’t make it in person still can join in. Through a special collaboration with Walmart, builders can submit their cars virtually via Walmart.com, vote for their favorites, and follow all the updates. The top-voted online entry will move forward to compete in the U.S. Regional Finals—proof that even from your garage at home, your build can still go the distance.

Celebrating Past Winners and Future Icons
The tour’s legacy continues to grow. Last year’s winner? A jaw-dropping 1968 Baufer-Ford Falcon Sport Prototype, affectionately nicknamed La Liebre (The Hare), that stole the spotlight and secured its place in Hot Wheels history.
Now, with 2025’s tour rolling in, the possibilities are endless. As Ted Wu, Mattel’s Senior VP and Global Head of Design, puts it:
“The tour started as a U.S. passion project and has grown into a global celebration. With new countries joining the journey, we can’t wait to see how different cultures and creators reshape what it means to be a Hot Wheels Legend.”
