Doctor Doom
A Decade of Replicas—and Doom’s Timing is Perfect
Can you believe it’s been 10 years since Marvel Legends started dropping these life-sized treasures? From the highs (that Green Goblin helmet last year was a knockout) to the occasional meh, this series keeps me coming back for more. And now, in 2025, we’re getting Victor Von Doom’s iconic headgear just as his star’s about to shine brighter than ever. With Robert Downey Jr. set to bring Doom to the MCU in Avengers: Doomsday, the hype’s building—and this comics-inspired helmet is landing right on cue. Even if the movie version ends up tweaking the design (and you know Hasbro’s probably plotting a follow-up already), fans are going to lose it for Doom merch the second he hits the screen. Smart move, Hasbro.
The helmet itself? It’s exactly what you’d hope for. That classic silver mask—simple yet menacing—pops with spot-on colors, and the green fabric hood seals the deal, giving it that authentic Latverian flair. It’s not some groundbreaking design leap, but it doesn’t need to be—Doom’s look is timeless, and this captures it perfectly. Plus, it comes with a slick display stand rocking a Latverian emblem, because let’s be honest—most of us aren’t wearing this to the grocery store (though I won’t judge if you do).
The timing of this makes a lot of sense to me, as even if Doom doesn’t look quite the same when he appears in the movies, fans are going to be frothing at the mouth for Doom gear as soon as he does show up. And then—Hasbro can sell a movie-inspired premium role-play helmet to collectors as well!
The Dr. Doom helmet here looks pretty much exactly how you’d expect. This isn’t a particularly difficult design to capture in plastic form, but the colors here and the fabric hood go a long way to making this feel authentic.
A display stand with fancy-looking Latveruan emblem on it is also included, which is very nice since 99% of the time collectors aren’t going to be wearing this mask during their daily activities (for the most part ).
This is priced at $124.99, which is a bit more than the first Iron Man helmet costed pre-pandemic, but not a terrible value in that it’s the same MSRP as last year’s Green Goblin helmet and this one also has the cloth hood.
Worth the Price—or a Royal Splurge?
Clocking in at $124.99, this isn’t cheap. It’s a step up from the OG Iron Man helmet’s pre-pandemic price, but it’s in line with last year’s Green Goblin drop—and that hood adds a premium touch you can’t ignore. Is it a steal? Not quite, but it’s not outrageous either for what you’re getting: a 1:1 scale, comic-accurate piece that’s built to impress whether you’re displaying it or channeling your inner dictator for a cosplay. For me, a sucker for this replica line, it’s a no-brainer—Shoaib, your cutitoy.com crew will see me snagging this one for sure.
Pre-orders are live now, with a summer 2025 arrival on the horizon. So, collectors, what’s your call? Are you bowing to Doom and grabbing this helmet, or holding out to see if an MCU-inspired version drops later? Maybe you’re dreaming of both. Either way, this is a crown jewel for any Marvel shelf—long live the king of Latveria! What do you think?
