Spider-Man 2 Marvel Legends Gamerverse Figures Swing
A Web of Spidey Variants and One Feline Fatale
First up, let’s talk about the lineup. Hasbro’s gone all out with a balanced case of six 6-inch figures, each a one-of-one: Peter Parker in his sleek Black Suit, Miles Morales rocking his Upgraded Suit, the Boricua Suit, and the Brooklyn 2099 Suit, plus Peter’s Anti-Venom Suit and, of course, Felicia Hardy’s Black Cat. No Build-A-Figure here, which means every figure’s loaded with accessories—think alternate hands, web effects, and some serious sculpting love. Pre-orders are live now at Entertainment Earth and Amazon, with these beauties set to land in late spring. Trust me, you’ll want to snag these before they vanish like a web in the wind.
One of everything. Doesn’t get any more simple or straightforward than that!
What I guess many would define as the “headliner” of the wave is the Miles Morales Upgraded Suit figure that comes in the red and blue and white colors of the iconic Advanced Suit from the first game. This is sadly a repaint of the previously released Miles Morales Spider-Man 2 figure, which wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea even back in 2023.
Miles in these colors feels awkward to me, and I much prefer his alternate costumes from the game. I think a lot of casual fans and gamers will see this on store shelves and pick it up, though this one isn’t for me.
What could be for me, however, is the Miles Morales Brooklyn 2099 suit figure. This is an all-new sculpt that feels really fresh and different, even if it is just an alternate costume for looks only.
Basically, this figure just looks cool, and Hasbro is able to budget it in with fully unique parts since there’s no BAF in this wave.
Brooklyn 2099 gets alt hands and two web effects. The solid amount of accessories with each figure in this assortment is also likely possible due to not having to budget in a Build-A-Figure.
The Miles Morales Boricua Suit is another real eye-grabber of a figure, as the color scheme and style really reminds me of Bucky’s Captain America costume from the comics. This figure looks to have a mix of fresh and reused tooling.
A sort of mash-up of the classic Miles Morales costume and a Puerto Rican flag, this costume makes for a really slick looking variant. The sculpted upper torso and butterfly shoulders are really appreciated. Though I couldn’t play this game, this is the kind of colorway I can really get behind and want anyway.
But speaking of wanting, there’s one guaranteed “buy” for me in any Spider-Man series (including this one): any black suit Spider-Man figure. For this GamerVerse version of one of the primary suits in the video game, Hasbro is appropriately giving us an all-new mold with a surprising amount of unique sculpting and texturing on it.
I really, really like the sheer amount of sculpted details on this Black Suit Spider-Man, although I think the choice to omit butterfly shoulders so as to not break up the “chest spider” design is a controversial one. This is a keeper for me nonetheless and the likely “hot” figure of the wave.
Conversely, I think the blue Anti-Venom Suit Spider-Man Peter Parker will be the slowest seller from this wave by far. Opting for this palette swap before a proper colored GamerVerse version feels bizarre, and the use of the aging Sunfire body mold doesn’t help matters.
The shiny blue on this figure is really pretty and all, but it’s such an oddball colorway choice. I can’t see this being high on many fans’ lists.
Not having a Build-A-Figure in a wave to encourage sales of ultra-niche entries like this one is really damaging to the sales of a figure like this for sure. I’m hopeful we’ll get this repainted in the default colors as some sort of exclusive release.
Finally, we’ve got the one non-Spider-Man figure in this set: GamerVerse Black Cat. This figure is just a thing of beauty with the fully pin-less 100% new sculpt and ball-jointed torso.
Felicia even gets a movable ponytail! Hasbro really went all-out for the singular non-Spidey in this video games series.
Felicia Hardy is a favorite of mine from the comics, so I do feel the tug of temptation to snap up this GamerVerse Black Cat even though I can’t play the video game. Hasbro did good with this one.
Take Miles Morales’ Upgraded Suit, for instance. It’s a red-white-and-blue nod to the Advanced Suit from the first game, but here’s the twist—it’s a repaint of the 2023 Miles figure. Some might shrug, but it’s a familiar grab-and-go for casual fans popping into stores. Me? I’m more drawn to the Brooklyn 2099 Suit. This one’s a total fresh sculpt, dripping with futuristic flair and packing alt hands and web effects. It’s the kind of figure that screams “display me”—no game experience required, just pure cool factor.
Then there’s the Boricua Suit Miles, blending his classic look with Puerto Rican pride. The colors pop like a comic panel come to life, and the mix of new torso sculpting with those butterfly shoulders? Chef’s kiss. It’s got a vibe that’d make even Bucky Barnes jealous. But if I’m picking a personal must-have, it’s Peter’s Black Suit Spider-Man. This isn’t just a figure—it’s a masterpiece of texture and detail, with a brand-new mold that skips the butterfly joints to keep that chest spider pristine. It’s bold, brooding, and probably the one to watch for a sell-out.
On the flip side, the Anti-Venom Suit Peter feels like a curveball. That shiny blue finish is undoubtedly gorgeous, but it’s an odd pick before we get a standard version—and it’s riding the old Sunfire mold. It’s a niche, and it’s pretty, but without a BAF to nudge collectors into grabbing it, I’d bet it’ll linger longest on shelves. Fingers crossed for a classic repaint down the line.
And then there’s Black Cat. Oh, Felicia Hardy, you’ve stolen my heart again. This figure’s a knockout—100% new sculpt, pin-less joints, a ball-jointed torso, and a posable ponytail that’s practically purring with personality. Hasbro didn’t skimp here, tossing in extra hands and a vibe that screams comic-book cool. Even if I’ve never swung through Spider-Man 2 myself, this Black Cat’s tempting me to break my no-game-no-figure rule. She’s a standout, and I’d wager she’ll be a dark horse hit alongside that Black Suit Spidey.
Your Shelf, Your Call
So, what’s the verdict? This Spider-Man 2 Gamerverse Series is a feast for Marvel Legends fans, blending game-accurate details with collector-grade polish. The Black Suit and Black Cat feel like the heavy hitters, but there’s something for everyone—whether you’re into Miles’ vibrant variants or just want a piece of that PS5 magic.
